MORLEY, Mo. -- Christy Sue Whorton, daughter of the late Leeroy Winfer and Betty Ruth Oliver Abernathy, was born Jan. 7, 1957, in Cape Girardeau and departed this life Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, in Morley at the age of 64 years.
She worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Missouri Veterans Home for 17 years, until her retirement Jan. 31, 2021.
She is survived by her son, Jamie (Heather) Abernathy of Morley; two brothers, Winfer Ray (Margaret) Abernathy of Oklahoma and Billy L. Abernathy of Morley; sister, Wanda L. (Jim) Lovel of Morley; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time.
